Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Your Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season introduces a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
